Activities/Attractions: Dover is a small fishing and farming community on the shores of Esperance Bay in Tasmania's Far South … the ideal spot for a busy family holiday, or a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Nestled under the slopes of the majestic Adamson's Peak, Dover provides a base for exploring the attractions of the lower Huon Valley and magnificent Far South.
Riseley Cottage boasts a private forest reserve, providing the field naturalist enthusiast or nature lover with a good diversity of plants and animals to explore, including a healthy canopy of endangered Eucalyptus Ovata forest and the occasion visit from a Tassie devil, Spotted Quoll or Eastern Barred Bandicoot. Many species of honeyeaters and other small bush birds are frequent visitors, especially during spring and summer.
Enchanting water views of the Narrows estuary are just a short 20 minute walk from our front door. A great spot to catch salmon, flathead or collect oysters off the rocks, or simply meditate for a time. Central to many attractions including Hastings Caves, Hartz National Park, Tahune Forest & Air Walk, Cockle Creek, waterways and wilderness.
