"We were most pleasantly surprised by both the standard and facilities at the Richmond Guest House. Our room was clean, comfortable and bright (in Auckland we had a plain cold room with no ensuite for the same money) and John, the proprietor, was welcoming, friendly and helpful. For 65 dollars a night we had breakfast, free parking, free washing machine and tea & coffee along with cooking facilities and a lounge with TV. The guesthouse is located an easy five minute walk from Courtney Place - the centre of entertainment in the capital - and is excellent value for money."

"Where to begin. having spent a month at the Richmond all I can say is it was time well spent. For may reasons too numerous to mention. If you are a rugby fan then John is more than happy to tell which teams are good ! The rooms are comfortable and serviced regularly and all have en-suite bathrooms. there are also clothes washing facilities and tea at any time of the day. On the whole a well kept bed and breakfast which is close enough to all the tourists attractions but quite enough to make you think you are home. Keep up the good work."
