All rooms come with clean ensuites bathroom and include breakfast. This fourteen room, B&B includes a nice kitchen for you to use, laundry, and a comfy TV room with Sky cable and all the channels. It's a five minute walk to downtown and they offer a phone with an honest box for local call (.20 cents). Cheap way to set up your adventures." "Where to begin. having spent a month at the Richmond all I can say is it was time well spent. For may reasons too numerous to mention. If you are a rugby fan then John is more than happy to tell which teams are good ! The rooms are comfortable and serviced regularly and all have en-suite bathrooms. there are also clothes washing facilities and tea at any time of the day. On the whole a well kept bed and breakfast which is close enough to all the tourists attractions but quite enough to make you think you are home. Keep up the good work." |

General Information: The Richmond Guest House is a 100 year old villa nestled in a quiet street in Mt. Victoria, just five minutes walk to the city via Courtney place, made into a guest house by its current owner and proprietor John Cairns. We have 12 rooms all with there own ensuite bathrooms. For the past few months we have been renovating and redecorating taking all the ceilings back to there original splendor with plaster ceilings and cornices etc. putting all new wood colonial architraves around every room windows and doors putting new plaster centers in all rooms to accommodate the new light fittings to match the era and to finish off a lot of new paint and wall paper to what I would call a fine finish. But you can be the judge by the new photos or come and stay.
To quote your host John Cairns, ‘We don't claim to be the Hilton’, but if you are traveling to Wellington for business or pleasure, for one night or ten, we offer clean, comfortable accommodation at an affordable price, with single, double, twin and triple rooms, each with good beds and linen, and their own en suite bathrooms with plenty of hot water. So next time you come to Wellington pay us a visit, Your "home away from home". Payment Accepted: Eftpos, Visa, MasterCard, Amex & JCB. Rates: (Prices quoted in NZ Dollars) $65-100/night Click here for all the rates. Prices for rooms are inclusive of a continental breakfast and GST. "We were most pleasantly surprised by both the standard and facilities at the Richmond Guest House. Our room was clean, comfortable and bright (in Auckland we had a plain cold room with no ensuite for the same money) and John, the proprietor, was welcoming, friendly and helpful. For 65 dollars a night we had breakfast, free parking, free washing machine and tea & coffee along with cooking facilities and a lounge with TV. The guesthouse is located an easy five minute walk from Courtney Place - the centre of entertainment in the capital - and is excellent value for money." |
