Activities/Attractions: Morbihan is a department in the southern part of Brittany, based along the coast around Vannes, the capital of the region. There are also some attractive and interesting towns to explore - particularly Vannes and Auray - and the renowned Brittany coastline, and some islands just off the coast that you can visit.

Morbihan means 'little sea' in Breton, and gets its name from the Gulf of Morbihan, which is a large spanse of water dotted with small islands that opens out into the 'great sea' of the Atlantic Ocean. It is also the only department in Brittany to have a southern coastline, with a sub-tropical feel the climate is warmer than the rest of Brittany, especially near the 300 miles of coastline and estuaries such as the Vilaine. We are near many interesting activities and attractions:

• Golfers will enjoy La Bretesche, an 18 hole golf course in the grounds of a chateau and century old forest
  
• A ten minute car ride will take you to the local 9 hole golf course at Caden
  
• Families of all ages will enjoy the wonderful wildlife park and botanic gardens at Branfere which is only 20 minutes away
  
• Long stretches of sandy beaches await you at Damgon closer - the small sandy cove at Billiers is great for young families
  
• The picturesque sailing port of Port de Foleux with restaurant facilities is within easy reach
  
• Beautiful medieval towns, steeped in tradition and history of La Roche Bernard, walled town of Guerande another 15 minutes further will bring you to the local salt marshes and the beautiful beaches of Le Baule

General Information: Welcome to Le Charrue Bed and Breakfast ... our charming south Brittany B&B situated on the edge of the small village of Béganne, France in the department of Morbihan. The village is well supplied with bars, tabacs and a restaurant and our nearest major town is Redon. The small town of Allaire, which again has bars, tabacs and restaurants, is within 10 minutes from us.

For a fantastic holiday in Brittany, you should not look further than La Charrue. We look forward to giving you a warm and friendly welcome to our comfortable cottage. The accommodations have recently been completely renovated while retaining their original features. We have owned the property for 4 years and have found the locals very friendly and helpful.

• We offer three comfortable bedrooms: two doubles with en-suite, plus a twin room directly opposite the main bathroom
  
• The bedrooms all have tea and coffee making facilities
  
• There is a quiet garden area available to all, with use of barbeque, also garden games and furniture
  
• There is TV available in the main lounge with access to DVDs
  
• The dining room is off the kitchen and lounge, which leads into the garden
  
• If you have any particular dietary requests, such as needing a gluten-free or dairy-free breakfast then please let us know and we'll do our best to provide you with a tasty alternative
  
• If English breakfast is requested an additional 3 euros, per head, will be charged
  
• We ask smokers to kindly refrain from smoking in the bedrooms and in the main house. You are welcome to smoke in the garden
  
• Parking of vehicles will be in the lane with garage parking for motorbikes and cycles

We offer a Continental-style breakfast with freshly brewed coffee, leaf tea or herbal teas, from 08h00 to 10h00 each morning. Fresh and dried fruit, yogurt, cereals, and a good selection of breads and pastries are available and as much local produce is used as possible.
