Activities/Attractions: Puerto Morelos is the gateway to the Mayan Riviera where it's possible to satisfy the Indiana Jones in you at many ancient Mayan archaeology sites. These Mexican treasures include Chichen Itza, Tulum, El Rey, Coba, Muyil, and Uxmal just to mention a few. All along the Riviera Maya are the beautiful Cenotes where picnicking, snorkeling, diving, and nature walks are a special and unique experience for the foreign tourist and native Mexican alike.

Puerto Morelos has been designated National Reef Park because of it's efforts to preserve the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere and the second largest in the world. Jacques Cousteau referred to this stretch of the Caribbean as having 'Gin Clear Water'. This world famous reef is just 500 meters from shore.

Casa Mermaid is a 5 minute walk to the nearby restaurants, gift shops, central plaza, pharmacy, and grocery store. We are located on a quiet residential street,  Av. Xavier Rojo Gomez among other large family and rental homes. Just across the street from the beach.

There is so much to see, experience, and learn about that you will want to return again and again. Our goal and mission at The Mermaid is to have every guest return home with stories of wonder and adventure, proclaiming it to be their best vacation ever. Local attractions and activities include:

• There are miles of powder white sand beaches for walking and beach combing, day or night, directly across the street
  
• At the Full Moon there is always a bonfire on the beach, feel free to join in, bongo and poetry, sit on the sand and bring your Tequila
  
• The Crococoon Zoo and famous Botanical Gardens are merely a ten-minute taxi drive from Casa Mermaid
  
• The exciting nightlife and shopping in the Cancun Hotel Zone and Playa del Carmen are both about 30 minutes away
  
• Also close by is the large city of Cancun, where you can experience the real Mexico and it's limitless shopping opportunities
  
• There are also several large Eco Parks which are magical places to learn about local flora, fauna, and ancient and mysterious cultures

General Information: Welcome to Casa Mermaid in the sleepy fishing village of Puerto Morelos, Mexico ... where you'll be enchanted by our charming beach house with all the conveniences of home with the "tipico" Mexican atmosphere to fulfill your dream vacation in Mexico. Located between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen and only 20 minutes from the airport, you'll be able to enjoy our large comfortable family home that accommodates from two to twelve persons with a pool and lounge chairs with no one else on the property but you and your family.

From the moment you enter the spacious open dining and family rooms you will experience the vibrant tropical breeze and truly relaxed feeling Mexico has to offer.
