Activities/Attractions: Umbria is a region of Central Italy, bordered by Tuscany to the west, the Marche to the east and Lazio to the south. This region is mostly hilly or mountainous.
In the true heart of Italy, the region is not touched by the sea, and the territory is one-third mountains and the rest hills covered with olive trees and vineyards, and widely acknowledged among the most beautiful landscapes in Italy.
Comprising the largest lake in central Italy, Lake Trasimeno, the territory is suited to agriculture, the main produce being cereals, tobacco, sugar-beet, sunflowers and vineyards. Thanks to the temperate climate, the beautiful landscapes and the religious, cultural and artistic wealth of many cities like Assisi, Gubbio, Spoleto, Perugia, tourism is also an important resource.
Umbria is an ideal territory to move around in Central Italy, to reach beautiful places, and visit the main sights in the " Beautiful Italy". If you stay for enough days in the Umbria you'll notice that the environment is unpolluted and far from chaos, and the cuisine is excellent.
"Four of us (the space could easily accommodate 6-10) stayed at Villa Rosy and it was a magical week. The views, the fresh produce, the wonderful kitchen and outdoor eating spots, the pool, the roses, and all the facilities. In our house, located in Foligno and surrounded by a vast park, we grow our own vegetable garden and rear small farmyard animals. Although we do not actually live in any of our three residences, our guests can rely on us at all time, and we will be happy to share our little secrets with you, suggesting the most striking itineraries off the beaten track, restaurants, wine cellars and craftsman shops, farmers, as well as the most typical produce our rich territory has on offer. "Villa Rosy far exceeded our expectations! The Tonti family was more than helpful and hospitable. My son and his friends who were with us had great times running through the olive grove and up the mountain slope. We had some of our best meals made with the San Potente olive oil at the Villa. The view were gorgeous, especially the sunset! The only thing I would change about our visit--is to make it longer. We had a wonderful time and we are already planning our return visit and trying to get all our friends to come with us!"
