Activities/Attractions: About 20 mi/32 km south of Naples, this area is one of the most romantic and beautiful in Italy. The peninsula (especially the Amalfi coastal drive) is spectacular. Begin in Sorrento (at the northern end) and continue to Vietri Sul Mare, on the southeast coast (or vice versa). It's only 40 mi/64 km, but en route you'll find secluded beaches, reefs, citrus groves, clear blue water, exquisite scenery, excellent restaurants and a hair-raising, narrow cliff road along the seaside. Along one of the beautiful and evocative areas of the Neapolitan coast, between Sorrento and Castellammare di Stabia, we find Vico Equense, on a great tufa coastline, plunged in the green and overlooking the gulf of Naples.
Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast regularly play host to a wealth of cultural events, particularly in the spring and summer seasons. Fabulous international musical events alternate with religious festivals, historical re-enactments and fêtes. Don’t miss this unique and relaxing opportunity to travel back in time at Astapiana! You’ll be greeted by a guide who will take you on a tour of the Camaldolesi monastery. Lunch features specialities of the area will be served in the magnificent 17th century kitchen. General Information: Welcome to Masseria Astapiana - Villa Giusso ... an estate, at 400 metres above the sea, in a fascinating location overlooking the Sorrento peninsula and Bay of Naples in Campania, Italy. Composed of different historical buildings, it is surrounded by 15 hectares of lands, partly cultivated (orchards, vineyards, olive grows) and partly pristine (chestnut trees).
A former monastery transformed into an elegant manor house, you feel as though you have stepped back in time. In 1822, the property was bought by Luigi Giusso, duke of Galdo, the present owner’s ancestor. Now Erminia and Giovanna invite you to experience their hospitality and the beauty and fascination of this historical site. A welcome drink await for you on the stone terrace: from this point the view is absolutely mesmerizing: Ischia, The Vesuvius and the bay of Naples, against an amazing sunset. The farm grows fruit, vegetables and above all - olive trees.

"Steeped in history the building retains a distinctly 18/19th century air but has 21st century bathrooms! The food was superb and sourced very locally. Nothing had prepared me for the view I discovered early next morning: below was the awe inspiring site of the Bay of Naples with Vesuvius lowering in the distance. I returned to this beautiful panorama every morning before breakfast! One of the reasons for choosing Villa Giusso was its superb geographical position. Overall the atmosphere was very friendly and we made several new friends around the refectory table. I would not hesitate to recommend the Villa Giusso to anybody."
"Villa Giusso is an enchanted place, perfect for a romantic getaway, weddings (of which there were several during our stay), or a home base from which to explore Sorrento, Capri and the Amalfi coast without the distractions of traffic and tourist crowds. We made our home in a monk's cottage apart from the main building, joining our hosts and fellow travelers for coffee, breakfast, and an occasional home-cooked dinner.
