The island is surrounded by a lagoon which extends several hundred yards to the reef which then slopes steeply to deep water.

Avarua township is located only 8 minutes drive where you will find a wide variety of local art & craft shops, banks, a cinema complex, cafés, bars and supermarkets. The airport and golf course are situated 5 minutes away, as are a number of the island’s best restaurants.
