Our community is alive with a variety of activities and accommodations. Whether it's fishing, kayaking, bear viewing, shopping, dining or sight seeing we have it all to make your Alaskan experience a trip of a lifetime! A pulsing creative spirit energizes this community of 5,400 residents, the Kenai Peninsula's second largest city. Its spark is evidenced in area galleries, theaters, musical productions and brightly painted shops. The waters of Cook Inlet and Kachemak Bay are home to salmon and "barn door" halibut, as well as Orca and Humpback whales. Must-see attractions include the award-winning Pratt Museum; the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies, which provides in-town and across-the-bay opportunities for learning about the environment; and the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center, which opens the door to the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge that stretches along most of Alaska's 47,300 miles of coastline. "A fairytale cottage. Decorated with quilts designed by Pat. Mommy and baby moose wandered around the walking path behind the cottage when we were there at the end of May. Arden, the host, is a professional Santa and former radio personality. Great hot breakfast and lengthy conversation with Arden and Pat. We were given a take-along cold breakfast of ham, cheddar, homemade rolls, and molten chocolate cupcakes when we went fishing at 6:00 AM. Good value. Great memory. " |

We learned that Pat was once a maven in a gourmet movement called Slow Food USA. That would account for the tasty breakfast with several courses served hot off the stove. Pat’s husband Arden is the spittin’ image of Santa Claus. The resemblance is so striking that he says he can make a good living at Christmas as a professional Santa. The inn is in a convenient location a couple of blocks from the commercial center of Homer." |
