Activities/Attractions: Nestled in south central British Columbia's Okanagan Valley between Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake, Penticton is a city of 32,000 with 42,000 living in the area when you include the communities of Naramata, Kaleden, Okanagan Falls and Twin Lakes. The name Penticton is derived from a Salish word meaning "a place to stay forever".

Visitors to Penticton, BC, say it's “One of the best summer family destinations in western Canada”. With all due modesty, we might also add it is one of the best fall destinations (wine touring and golf) and one of the best family winter destinations (skiing/snowboarding, cross-country skiing, tubing and tobogganing at Apex Mountain Resort). And it’s pretty darn nice in spring, as well! Penticton has a host of events for visitors to enjoy, including:

  • the Ironman Canada Triathlon
  • spring and fall Okanagan Wine Festivals
  • Penticton Peach Festival
  • Pentastic Hot Jazz Festival
  • Peach City Beach Cruise
  • the Pacific Northwest Elvis Festival
  • spectacular beaches and crystal-clear Skaha and Okanagan lakes for swimming
  • boating and fishing
  • golf on one of several courses
  • hike or bike the Kettle Valley Railway Trail
  • climb Skaha Bluffs
  • ski or snowboard at Apex Mountain Resort
  • eighty eight wineries within an hour's drive make Penticton the location-of-choice for savvy Okanagan Valley wine tourists
  • on the renowned Naramata Bench alone, just outside of Penticton, there are 23 wineries

"My partner and I were doing a road trip around BC ski resorts during the Christmas and New Year period staying at B&B's as we went. When visiting Apex Mountain Resort ,we decided to stay at A Pinetree Place B&B in nearby Penticton. It was the perfect choice and probably the best B&B that we stayed at in the whole 2 weeks that we were in Canada. Not only did Linda & Peter welcome us into their home as if we were part of the family, they were so helpful and friendly - nothing was too much for them. The breakfasts were fantastic and Linda had obviously put some thought into the fact that we would be snowboarding all day, as her delicious healthy breakfasts kept us going until mid afternoon. They had excellent recommendations for evening activities in the town including a great night out watching the local ice hockey team. I would not hesitate to recommend that you book to stay here. We stayed in the deluxe room which had amazing views of the town day and night. I could happily have moved in forever!"

"On our roundtrip through B.C. and the Rockies we came to sunny Penticton to rest for three days. Luckily the Pinetree Place B&B had space and we were welcomed with cheese and a very tasty fruit wine. A gourmet breakfast was served at 8 in the morning and it really was something special. Every day something different was served. We enjoyed our days in Penticton very much. Linda and Peter sure know how to make their guests feel good."

"Absolutely excellent accommodation and wonderful hosts. When we arrived we were given a very warm welcome by Linda and Peter Tremblay. We were made to feel very special and were given the complimentary wine and cheese. The wine was from a local Okanagan vineyard. The view of the lake from this location is spectacular. As the sun set we were entertained with numerous Humming birds weaving and dancing in spectacular fashion outside the patio door. Linda and Peter entertained us with delightful tales, of a previous life, in the frozen North of Canada. The morning breakfast was amazing."
