Activities/Attractions: From Cotswold cottage it is only 5 minutes to the historic gold mining and colonial architectural town of Thames with a good selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars as well as the School of Mining Museum, the Historical Museum and a lovely coastal walk which meanders from the town along the coast passing mangroves and bird sanctuaries and ending at a lovely bay.

Thames, known as the 'Gateway to the Coromandel Peninsula', is the region's service centre, less than one and a half hours drive from the centre of Auckland. It is the main shopping centre on the peninsula and has a wealth of boutique-style shops, an historic main street and the modern Goldfields Shopping Mall. The colourful history is still alive in the pubs, buildings, museums and activities of the area. Fringing the town is the Thames estuary and dramatic volcanic hills of the Coromandel Range and Kauaeranga Valley - an area of magnificent scenery, crystal clear waterfalls and rivers, prolific native bird life and picnic places.

Our names are Graham and Jacqui and we are the lucky owners of the Cotswold Cottage bed and breakfast in Thames, New Zealand. Just like you, we love to travel and have visited almost every corner of the world before settling in the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula. What began as a relaxing holiday for us became a complete work/life change once we realised what New Zealand had to offer us, most specifically the potential to own and work in such a delightful B and B as this one.

When we stay away from home, we like to feel special, stay in fantastic modern and contemporary rooms and be able to enjoy a relaxing visit in a warm, friendly environment. We also like to feel that we can ask for information on local attractions and amenities, safe in the knowledge that we will receive good honest advice from hosts that will go that extra mile to make us feel welcome. This is what we like and this is what we offer at The Cotswold Cottage Bed and Breakfast.

We love entertaining and cooking for all our guests and offer a 2 or 3 course evening meal (by prior arrangement) using only the best locally sourced ingredients and our cooked breakfast is just the perfect way to start your day.  So let us welcome you and look after you and all you have to do is enjoy.
