Activities/Attractions: Most visitors believe Akumal has some of the most beautiful beaches on the Yucatan Peninsula. It is a lovely stretch of privately owned land on the Mexican Caribbean coastline that was settled and developed by Don Pablo Bush. Señor Bush was an archaeologist who discovered some of the most spectacular shipwrecks along the coast. The shipwrecks may still be viewed by divers, and many of the artefacts are in local museums. Akumal is a Mayan word which means "Place of the Turtle"; the area is known for its nesting turtles, spectacular Mayan ruins, white sandy beaches, and crystal clear waters.

Villa Caribe is not far from Xcaret, an ecological park which includes many of the splendors of the Yucatan with-in it's gates. Swimming with dolphins, watching cultural dancing, or seeing an ancient Mayan village, are just a few of the numerous activities offered. Within a few minutes drive of Villa Caribe, there are many wonderful and unique places at which to dine. From beach front cafes to elegant restaurants, the dining choices are wide and varied.

General Information: Welcome to Villa Caribe ... a Mexican 3 bedroom home on the beach of Aventuras Akumal in Yucatan, Mexico. Every room offers unobstructed views of the azure Caribbean and the exotic palapa roof above the living room creates a very indigenous feeling enhancing the 1500 square foot home's open and breezy floor plan.

New updates to the kitchen and dining area make it more functional. The house has been refinished in many areas and the air conditioned casita, which sits behind the villa, can house two additional two people over the Villa's 6 guests. The villa and casita can be rented together at a discount.

• Villa Caribe's spacious main floor master bedroom has a king bed, ¾ bath, private patio and opens up to the living room
  
• The unusual architecture provides individual private balconies off each upstairs bedroom
  
• The beach side of the house has a delightful and private wrapped patio that will offer many relaxing hours to it's guests, as well as a fire pit with seating a bit closer to the water
  
• The living room walls are floor to ceiling, wall to wall tinted glass doors, which all look out to the beach
  
• Between the villa and the ocean there is a protected fire pit surrounded by concrete bench seats, perfect for stargazing moonlit rendezvous
  
• Villa Caribe has a small but full kitchen separated by a bar from the dining area, which also has it's own patio. The red saltilo tile floors enhance the remarkable Mexican decor
