Activities/Attractions: The cottage is just a few minutes by car from either the centre of Nelson city or the beach. Nelson is a small Cathedral city of 40,000 people, who enjoy a friendly, relaxed and informal life style. Nelson nestles into the hills which backdrop the city in the northern part of the South Island of New Zealand. The city faces the safe and picturesque Tasman Bay.
The Nelson region has the highest sunshine hours in New Zealand with over 2500 hours of sunshine annually. There are safe, beautiful beaches and rivers close to the city. In winter the views of beach, sea and mountains covered with snow are particularly inspiring.
Within an hour's drive you will find the famous Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks where tramping against an idyllic backdrop of golden sand beaches and azure blue seas will entrance you. Within two hours scenic drive from the city are the Nelson Lakes and mountains where you can ski and tramp in superb scenic splendour.

General Information: Welcome to 39 Russell Luxury Accommodation ... and step into the world of celebrated New Zealand Artist Jane Evans - share the full sensory experience of colour, harmony, privacy and independence. Jane welcomes guests (subject to her availability) to her studio next door to view her paintings. Simply make an appointment on your arrival.
"39 Russell" is spacious fully self contained cottage accommodation, enhanced by local ceramics and original paintings. French doors open onto a charming, sunny, private courtyard lined with olives, citrus fruits and feijoas, over-looking the port of Nelson and the Tasman Sea. The cottage offers a master Queen bedroom with super ensuite and a second bedroom with two single brass beds and a separate bathroom.

The courtyard with gas barbecue is planted in olives, feijoas and citrus with an established apricot tree, which bears delicious fruit in season. Theatrically lit at night it creates a romantic ambience
James, Richard or Jane will meet you when you arrive and welcome you to the cottage warmly and professionally. We will be happy to help you with anything you need. As their local knowledge, James and Richard will be able to advise and direct our guests to the huge variety of treasures this region offers, including award winning restaurants on the waterfront within a few minutes walk from "39 Russell".
