It is the ninth biggest city in Montana. Anaconda covers an area of three square miles (8 km˛) and is 5,335 feet (1,626 m) above sea level. It is surrounded by the communities of Opportunity and West Valley. The county area is characterized by densely timbered forestlands, lakes, mountains and recreation grounds. Riches of yesterday and today derive from the spectacular mountains of this region. From the 10,000-foot peaks of the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness to the 58-story 'stack' this is a place that meets towering expectations. You'll find historic and mineral treasures as well as modern recreation opportunities that you'll never forget. We are centrally located between Glacier Park and Yellowstone, in the area of the Lewis and Clark Trail - ˝ mile from the Old Works Golf Course, and 14 miles from Discovery Ski Area. General Information: Welcome to The Hickory House Inn Bed and Breakfast ... located in the historical district of Anaconda, Montana. Formerly the parish house of St. Paul's Church, the Rectory has 4,200 sq. ft. which includes five bedrooms - it's large size makes it perfect for a family reunion or weddings. The Inn was built in 1902 by local tradesman in a French Federalist style and is located halfway between Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park, in the area of Lewis and Clark's historic trail. As you walk through the wrought iron fence, up the garden pathway by the wonderful restored fountain, you are taken back in time to another era. The wonderful porch, with its great white columns and wrought iron furniture, reminds you of elegant days watching the world go by. The home has its original oak and maple floors. The formal dining room is a wonderful site to behold, with its restful blue walls and Indian tapestry rugs; looks out into the garden area and another fountain.
Cowboy
Cottage is for those who would like to stay for awhile and do
their own cooking. Furnished in a true western style, two bedroom 1˝
bath, laundry on site. A fully equipped kitchen, located in a lovely part
of town. The
Tuscany Cottage is located close to the entrance to the Old
Works Golf Course. A fully furnished house with four bedrooms and kitchen,
