"I'm always a little leery of the 'motor lodge' kind of hotel. And when you book online, you have no idea what you're getting into!! But since my last few experiences with big name brand hotels have been pretty disappointing, I figured what the hell! I booked a room at the Lone Oak Lodge and the gentleman who checked me in was so friendly and was more than happy to refer us to a great restaurant. Then when we saw the room it was spotless. The room smelled fresh and we couldn't find a speck of dust anywhere! The parking lot was even clean, with potted flowers hanging everywhere! The location wasn't bad either - only one exit north from the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. I would definitely stay here again!"

"You wouldn't expect this place to have feather beds, hot tubs, and fireplaces, but it does! Very modest on the outside but a lot of attention was paid to detail on the inside. We will definitely go back!"

General Information: Welcome to the Lone Oak Lodge ... a very nice, independently owned motel located on North Fremont Street in Monterey, California - about a 4 minute drive from downtown Monterey and nearby the Fairgrounds. We offer family value accommodations and are located minutes away from Monterey Peninsula, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and world famous Pebble Beach.

Most guest rooms are decorated in a salmon and white color scheme and rooms include TV with VCR, hair dryer, coffee maker , mini refrigerator, satellite television, CD clock radio players, and fresh cut flowers brought in by the maid staff daily. The Lodge has an indoor whirlpool and sauna and fitness center, some rooms include a kitchen.

"I'm sort of a nut about cleanliness, so it goes without saying that staying in hotels/motels (no matter how high or not-so-high end) always kind of leaves me wondering- how often does that bedspread see the inside of a wash machine? EEEWWWW! But not at Lone Oak Lodge. It never even crossed my mind. The place is impeccable. Yes, the decor leaves something to be desired, but it's not hideous by any stretch, and what can you expect for this price? What you can expect here is a clean, comfortable room with exceptionally friendly service. You really couldn't do any better in this price range anywhere in Monterey."
